We are your Administration Team for 2021/22
Admin Team Leader
Lion Derek Blow District Constitution Nominations & Resolutions Officer Lion Derek Blow |
Hello from Lion Derek Blow member of Louth & District Lions Club and our District Admin Team Leader By way of a short introduction from myself, I have been a member of our great organisation for several years and throughout this time I have had a thoroughly enjoyable time and have had the privilege to serve in most club officer positions during this time and also the opportunity to serve as District Governor and on a number of occasions as a cabinet officer. Through all my time as a Lion and working career my aim has been to work hard, play hard and most importantly enjoy life with your family. My working career has been spent in farm machinery and consider it has given me a sound grounding in engineering, practical skills and hopefully some common sense My current task and aim as District Admin Team Leader and C.N.R.O. is to ensure as members, Clubs and District we are guided in the following manner:

District Almoner
Lion Barry Miller |
I joined the Lions In 1977 and was a founder member and the only remaining Charter member of the Lions Club of Castle Point. My club is on the Thames Estuary about 25 miles from the City of London and consists of Benfleet, Hadleigh and Canvey Island, we are at the very bottom (geographically) of our District.
I have held most club offices including President four times and currently Secretary. I served on the EA cabinet in many roles including Region and Zone Chairman and Almoner. In 2011 I became District Governor. My motto was PLAY TOGETHER SERVE TOGETHER. My interests apart from Lions are music, photography and cars. |
I am a member of Glanford and Lindsey Lions club which covers an area north of Lincoln which is in part in the Unitary council area of North Lincolnshire and the remainder is in West Lindsey district in Lincolnshire. I have been a Lion for 17 years, serving on the former District E Cabinet as Disaster Relief Officer and Counter-Signatory for the DBS application process. I am a cabinet member for District CE for Emergency Response and Insurance and continue to assist the District’s Vulnerable Persons Officer as a DBS Counter-Signatory.

District Vulnerable Persons and DBS Officer
Lion Di Parkin |
I have been a Member of Peterborough Lions Club for 25+ years – currently hold the post of Secretary and Social Chair within the Club.
I became involved with the VPO role at the very beginning when CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) was first introduced into Lions Clubs (by Brigid Hendy), the name changed to ISA (Independent Safeguarding Authority) and is now called the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). As we now have ‘everlasting’ cover through DBS provided the applicant ‘signs up’ for the service, many Members hold the DBS certificate – the dream is to have every Lion who comes into contact with a vulnerable person in their role as a Lion holding a DBS certificate. |
District Data Compliance Officer

I have 20 years plus experience in the field, having worked as my last job in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) as data protection casework officer and trainer and, since January 2005, running my own specialist consultancy in the field. |

Lion Paula Mellows |
Firstly let me introduce myself as many of you may not know me, my name is Paula Mellows and I am your District Treasurer and District & MD contact regarding CIO's.
A little history about me personally - I came up through the ranks of the Lions family starting in District 105A as a Leo (26 years ago), I went on and joined my parent Lions Club 21 years ago, then at the end of 1999 I moved to Lincoln in District 105E where I am still a Lion. In 2010 my fellow members of Lincoln Lions honoured me by presenting me with a MJF and in 2019 PDG Lion Steve awarded my with an International Leadership Medal. I have been a club Treasurer for the past 15 years and District Treasurer for the past 12 years. In 2019 I was asked to head up the MD team of CIO mentors which I am still currently doing. For the passed 30 years I have been working in the Banking sector. In 2014 I decided to study accountancy with AAT and qualified 3 years later, its my intention to capitalise on this, and further my qualification with the intention of becoming a chartered accountant but that’s for the future (hopefully not too far in the future)!! |
