International Guest - Lion Daniel Marney Elkins

Picture

In Daniel's own words "Lion Daniel is a Lion".

Lion Daniel became a Lion in 2017 when he   joined the Bellefonte branch of the   Claymont   Lions Club. He served as the charter president of the Bellefonte   Lions Club in 2018 and since then Daniel has held a wide variety of roles   throughout the organisation from club to multiple district level.

Daniel served as district governor of the state of Delaware (22-D) in 2022 - 2023   and was appointed to serve as a board appointee at the 105th International   convention in Boston   Massachusetts in 2023.

In recognition of his service to the association, he has received multiple   Presidential   and Leadership Medals and International President’s Certificates of   Appreciation.

 He has been
recognised as a Second Century Ambassador for Lions Clubs   International and a Humanitarian Partner for Lions Clubs International   Foundation (LCIF). He has also been honoured with the Ambassador of Good   Will Award, the highest honour the association bestows upon its members.

Daniel is from Bellefonte, Delaware and is the director of community engagement at the Bellevue Community Centre. He has more than a decade of experience teaching young people strategic thinking and service learning while managing federal and state substance abuse prevention grants. He is also the co-founder of DeGenerous Dao, a Web3 technology and gaming company that uses artificial intelligence to develop interactive brand experiences.

In addition to his Lion activities, Daniel is a graduate of the Public Allies AmeriCorps a Non-Profit Leadership Training Program and has his master’s degree in political science from Marshall University. He is one of the founders of the Lions Virtual movement and an executive producers of the LCIF Tell-A-Thon.

Daniel is a a passionate public speaker and has presented at International conventions, USA/Canada
Forums, ANZI-Pacific Forums, ISAME Forums, Europa Forums and at district conventions around the world, Inspiring people to find what their passionate about in their local communities and challenging them to make a difference in them.

Daniel and his wife, Jessica, who also a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow, enjoy playing music, travelling and helping mentor youth in under-served communities.

Testaments:

Having had the pleasure to serve alongside Daniel on 2 Global weeks of service, one in India and the other in Morocco, I agree wholeheartedly with him that "Lion Daniel is a Lion".

He does not serve for the prestigiousness of achieving an award or for any titles bestowed upon him. He simply does it because he cares. I personally have been inspired to follow my passions and give back to the community through ways I had not even considered pursuing until I met Daniel, he epitomises the values and mission statement of Lions International he "builds up, and not destroys".
