​Partner's Appeal

​​MNDA - Motor Neurone Diesease Association 

Every year, from 1st July, we have a new District Governor and they are supported in many of their duties by their partner.  As part of this support, the District Governor’s Partner usually launches an appeal to benefit a charity near to their heart.
 
This year – 2024/25 – our District Governor – Lion Colin Talbot is supported by his wife, Lynne who is delighted to have chosen MNDA as the charity she will champion.  

MNDA is Lynne's chosen charity for a few reasons, but in her own words:

"In 2014 I had my first stroke and for 6 months I couldn't speak and my right side was paralysed. When the stroke happened and progressed I could not respond either verbally or physically when spoken to even though I could hear them, I could do nothing!

This became a realisation how MND sufferers struggled every day with absolutely no hope of recovery. Most people diagnosed with MND sadly pass away within 14 months of diagnosis in the most cruel way anyone could imagine.

MND is one of the least subscribed to charities and it is desperate for funds for research as there is no definitive test to diagnose MND, it is a process of elimination".
