Lions Scouts & Guides Challenge badge

Service. Leadership. Adventure.Welcome to the Lions International Scouts & Guides Challenge Badge — a unique opportunity for young people to serve their communities, develop new skills, and build a better world through partnership with Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organisation.

🌍 What is the Challenge? The Lions Scouts & Guides Challenge Badge invites young people in Scouting and Guiding to complete a set of exciting service activities that reflect the Lions’ mission: to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, and promote peace and international understanding.
This challenge is open to Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers.

How Does It Work?To earn the badge, participants complete a set of service-based activities in partnership with their local Lions Club. Activities fall under four key themes:
  1. Community Impact – Support a local cause (e.g., food bank collection, community clean-up, or elderly care project).
  2. Global Citizenship – Learn about Lions’ international work, including disaster relief and vision programs.
  3. Peace & Kindness – Take part in or create a peace or kindness project (e.g., the Lions Peace Poster contest).
  4. Environmental Action – Help protect the planet through tree planting, recycling drives, or conservation efforts.
Clubs and leaders are encouraged to adapt activities to suit the age and ability of their group.
   Designed for Flexibility
Whether you complete the challenge in one action-packed weekend or across multiple sessions, the badge is designed to complement your section's program while deepening understanding of service, empathy, and leadership.

Receive the BadgeOnce activities are complete:
  • The unit leader submits a brief report or photo log to the partnering Lions Club.
  • Participants receive a colourful embroidered Lions International badge to wear with pride on their camp blanket or badge poncho.

Why Partner with Lions?Lions Clubs are embedded in thousands of communities across the UK and the world. By partnering with your local club, you’ll gain:
  • Access to project resources and support
  • Opportunities for joint service projects
  • A real connection to local and global humanitarian work
