Lion Chris Speed
District Governor
[email protected]
Hi, I’m Lion Chris Speed a proud member of Great Yarmouth Lions Club, all the way over on the east coast of Norfolk. For some reason I have a reputation for wearing loud clothes but I’m not sure where that has come from.

I first joined the Lions nearly 21 years ago with my now wife but unfortunately, due to work commitments and the birth of our children, I wasn’t able to give the club the time it deserved. In 2018, I re-joined the Lions to do more for the community.

While progressing, I have attended a symposium, the Regional Lions Leadership Institute training, Advanced Lions Leadership Institute in Oslo and I was one of the facilitators at Symposium 6. In the last 12 months I’ve been able to visit and meet the amazing members of 26 clubs across our district.

I will continue to pass my expertise onto others to help them become leaders of the future, ultimately helping our district to serve more of our community.

I'm supported by my immediate family, they are Lion Jaime of Great Yarmouth Lions Club and my two daughters, Mollie, also a member of Great Yarmouth Lions Club, and Emily, an active member of New Century Leos Club.

Those that know me know that I have a great passion in Lions for Youth Engagement and Service projects. Both of these help keep our members engaged and helps us to stand out in our local areas. If done well they will help us increase our membership and grow.

My moto is “Take a look at yourself and make that That Change” You have already made that change we just need others to do the same. I’m very Proud to be a Lion and remember we are just normal people making this world a better place.

Lion Ian Constable
1st Vice District Governor
[email protected]

I have been a member of our great organisation for the last thirty years. Having
joined the Lion’s family in 1994 as a Leo.

Throughout my Leo career I held a number of positions, but the pinacol was that of
Multiple District Leo President.

I joined March & Chatteris Lions in 2001 and held various club positions including Club President.

Due to Lifestyle changes I moved to the Lions Club of Littleport, becoming a charter member when the club was formed. I continue to actively support my current club and have just finished a term of Club President.

I am a trained guiding Lion and have attended the Advance Lions Leadership
Institute. The knowledge I have gained over the years has helped with positions I
have held on District Cabinet, including Zone Chairperson. For 2024-25 I am
continuing as the District’s Global Service Team Co-ordinator.

I enjoy taking part in Lions activities and look forward to visiting club and hearing
about the amazing work that they do within their communities.

I am proud and excited for the opportunity to be part of the District Governor Team, working alongside Colin and Chris. In the coming Lionistic year I will be able to gain valuable experience, continue to develop as I start my District Governor journey.
