I see the Region Chair role has several aspects: Ensuring that communications between Cabinet, Zones, Clubs and Lions are effective and two-way. Supporting Zone Chairs and Clubs to transfer good ideas and practice in delivering service and fundraising. Helping to grow the membership of Clubs. Good communication is key to success in the role. I will meet Clubs and Zones to spread good ideas widely and provide a two-way conduit for ideas. |

I joined Wisbech Lions Club in 2016. I served as Club President 2020-2021 and was re-elected for 2021-22. I have developed our social media presence and set up a ‘Friends of’ Facebook group. I am passionate about learning and sharing information and in developing links with Lion worldwide.
As Zone 1b Chair my role will be to provide a link between clubs in my Zone and District Cabinet. Sharing good ideas is an important part of learning, we should Borrow with Pride. I am also a problem solver. My role will also be to help identify potential leaders. I will make arrangements for club representatives to attend Zone meetings after the District Cabinet meeting to ensure timely sharing of information takes place and feedback is available. |
I joined Launceston Lions in 2008 and transferred to Helen Keller Internet Lions in 2016. I have served as Club Secretary and President; I will be Vice President this year. In my previous Club I held the positions of Secretary, President, Zone Chairman and District GLT Co-ordinator.

Born and bred in Leigh on Sea, my career has mainly been in IT and project management. Following early retirement, I’ve thrown myself into full time volunteering - in Lions, in a social care charity and I even run a museum.
I joined the Lions Club of Leigh on Sea around 2014 and have been the zone chairman for the clubs of South East Essex for several years, on and off. I am looking forward to broadening my horizons to the entire county. My main focus in Lions has always been on the community/welfare side of our operation. My aim going forward is to concentrate on membership. It’s not just about numbers, it’s about Lions actively serving their community. We are too valuable a community service to disappear! |

When I left, I received an MJF. The reason i left was due to a house move to Norfolk. I grew up in Essex and moved to Norfolk in 2012. Not long after moving I joined Wymondham Lions club. this was only for a short time as I then helped set up Attleborough 2013 Lions Club. During my time at Attleborough Lions club I have been president 3 times and have been Zone chair and Region chair for Zone 3. I am currently Still region chair for region 3, and after the last 18 months I am thoroughly looking forward to meeting with other clubs and helping and supporting them when I can.

I'm Chris Speed, a member of the Great Yarmouth Lions Club, I first became a Lion in 2001 but had to step back when my children were born due to lack of time. I continued to support the club as my family grew up and rejoined in 2018. I'm currently the Club President, Zone 3A Chair and GMA Lead for New Members (New Voices).
I believe Service is the key to keeping a club healthy and growing. I have a saying of "Help others when you can as you never know when you will need help yourself" |

I retired in 2011 after many, many years as a painter and decorator (too many years for me to remember). I grew up in Essex and lived there until 2012 when I moved to Norfolk. Before I moved I received MJF from Leigh-On-Sea Lions.. After Moving I Joined Wymondham for a short time before Attleborough 2013 Lions club was set up. Zone 4B Chair
Lion Dave Broadley zone4b@lions105ce.org.uk |
Having moved to Saffron Walden soon after retirement, I joined Saffron Walden Lions Club because I wanted to help others and felt the need to ‘give something back.’ Prior to retirement I had a successful career in Personnel/HR Management so was used to working with people at all levels. I started as a Lion in July 2018, became the Vice President a year later in July 2019 and have been the President since July 2020.
I see the position of Zone Chair as essential not only because it provides a direct link between the District Team and local clubs but also and perhaps more importantly because it enables those clubs to share ideas and best practice, learn from each other, provide a helping hand where needed and practicable, and ultimately to strengthen the bond between Clubs in the Zone so we are best able to serve those in need in our communities. |
I joined Beccles and District Lions Club in 2007 and for the last 2 years I have been Club President.
I joined Lions hoping my small contribution could be a part of the bigger aim of Lionism, that of helping others and to make a difference within the community, whilst still having fellowship and fun with friends. I’ve managed to maintain this aim throughout my time as a Lion and I’ve been a part of some really wonderful moments. Going forward I believe with a great deal of encouragement and enthusiasm then all the members within Zone 4C can have that same fellowship and fun with friends, plus as Lions together we can make that difference within the community too. |

As Chair of Region 5 my aim is to visit as many of the individual clubs as possible, to assist the members of the region in any queries they may have. In addition, I will strive to attend all the zone meetings in the region, assist clubs in their quest to serve their communities fully, act as a liaison with the District Governor and his teams and promote the links with LCI. |
I was sponsored to join the Market Rasen Lions in May 2015. Previously the Club Treasurer, I am coming to the end of three rewarding years as Club President.
I took up the role of Vision Officer at the end of 2021 and look forward to expanding knowledge throughout the district. I am Interested in expanding my knowledge of Lions throughout our District and have therefore taken up the position on Zone 5a Chair for the year 2022-2023. I would like to aid individual clubs to share their fundraising ideas and help each other whenever possible. I am also looking forward to taking ideas from members to make more of our annual marquee at the Lincolnshire show, promoting the Lions and show more of what we can offer members as well as where we help nationally and Internationally. |

I am Immediate Past President Lion Ravinder Manku, I first joined as a Charter Member of Nottingham West Lions Pride Club Branch in 2009, after a short break, I re-joined in 2018. I really enjoy being a Lion, serving and having fun within the small Club Branch of 9.
This is the first time for me in a role above Club level and I hope to do it justice as the Zone Chair for Zone 5C. I plan to work with all the clubs in the Zone to learn from them and share good ideas for socialising and services projects. One of my goals is to run a Zone Service Project and having discussed this (Christmas Shoe Boxes for Children and Adults) with the Region Chair Lion Verdun Webley, it looks like it may well become a Region wide project – watch this space. I am a busy mother of three, and grandmother to a little boy and a new-born girl. So, with that and looking after my other half, the family does keep me busy!! |
