Following a trip to provide vision screening in Uganda it became apparent that there was a desperate need to provide support for a children's orphanage in Jinja Uganda.  Under the guidance of Lion Phil Nathan and A GIFT FOR LIVING charity will be providing a long term sponsorship programme to support the children in the orphanage. Providing each child with food , shelter , basic medication, clothes and education each year. To protect the safety and well-being of children in the care of the orphanage.

Chronic poverty, rampant child neglect, deaths of HIV/AIDS affected persons, absence of love and security in the families, unwanted pregnancy, trafficking, sexually exploited girls, leave orphans without care and support.

These children are often involved in rag picking, anti-social and criminal activities including pick pocketing.

In partnership with the Shield Of Faith Community Empowerment Organisation (supported by local Lions) we aim to provide care, supporting the welfare and protection for 40 vulnerable children aged between 4 and 16 years.

Just the price of two cups of coffee a week from your high street coffee house could:

             -  Provide a child with accommodation
             -  At least two meals a day
             -  Basic education and school clothing
             -  Basic medication
             -  Recreation and play facilities, crafts and hobbies
             -  Promoting parenting skills
             -  Farming, crop production and animal rearing
