Youth Team Leader
Lion Graham Venables
Life Skills Officer
Lion Graham Venables
I joined Lions in 1999 and have held several positions in my club and have been secretary for the past 12 years. I first became involved in the District Youth Team in 2003 as Peace Poster officer and then took on Young Ambassador which I went on to organise at MD level for 5 years. I became District Secretary in 2014 and held than position until the reorganisation of Districts in 2019.
My aim is to encourage clubs to become more actively involved with youth in the community and see that involvement as a route to recruitment of younger members in the short, medium and long term.

District  Peace Poster Officer
Lion Mel Godefroy
Hi i'm Mel Godefroy I have been in the New Century Lions for about 6 years, I was a Leo in the past also a very active member of St John Ambulance. I work as a nursing assistant at West Suffolk hospital.

I am Peace Poster Officer again for 3rd year running I am hoping to get more clubs involved this year and get into schools and clubs.

ROAR Officer
Lion Sue Denton
I joined Grimsby (N E Lincs) Lions 20 years ago and transferred to Loughborough Lions in 2009 when I moved to my current address in Leicestershire.  I joined District E Cabinet in 2006 and served as Environmental Officer, Minute Secretary and until I l left the District as Youth Team Leader.
Whilst serving as Youth Team Leader, amongst other things, I was responsible for introducing the ROAR Partnership into the District so I have a good knowledge of the programme and its aims. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we have now moved to an electronic system but the principles are the same.  To engage with children aged 7 to 11 years to encourage them to change the world by thinking big on the many ideas they have.
As an Officer of Cabinet I see it as my role to engage with Clubs in the District to show them the many benefits that this very worthwhile programme can bring not only to children but also to their own Clubs by giving them an entry into schools themselves.

District ROAR Officer
Lion Steve Scall
I live with my daughter Laura in Boughton, having moved from Edwinstowe after 33 years. My son lives near Newark with partner Jenny and my fantastic grandson Finley.
I work for a local community newspaper, having retired from retirement! A Lion since 1996, involved with all aspects of club life, I came to understand the service ethos and helping the community.  Having thoroughly enjoyed four years as President of Edwinstowe & The Dukeries, the club honoured me with an MJF.
Having served as DG in 2018/19, I oversaw the joining of EA & E into CE, a very successful union where I continue to take an active part. I recently transferred to Southwell & District and am the fundraising chair. On Cabinet, I am on the ROAR team, running in primary schools in all 8 districts. And, the Young Farmers Liaison, a great opportunity to work together with an emphasis on hunger and environment.

District LEOS & Campus Clubs Officer
Lion Sue Hibbert
I joined Ashby & Coalville Lions in 1998 after starting a Leo club at my school. I have been President twice and will take on the role again in 2021 for the New Century club. I have been the District Leo District Officer for most of my time in Lions and was the MD Leo Officer
As District Leo Officer I help clubs create and manage Alpha and Omega Leo Clubs. As Campus Clubs Officer I will be trying to restart UEA and will be looking for opportunities in other campuses.
I am happy to attend club or Zone meetings, liaise with schools etc for any club who is interested in sponsoring a Leo or Campus club.

Young Ambassadors Officer
Lion Reg Hunt
I am currently a member of Caistor and District Lions Club, which I joined in 1988 and thus come July 2021 will have served some 33 years and where I  continue to support our youth officer  In the past have been Treasurer, Secretary, President, and Membership Chair.  I have also served a 3 year stint as a Zone Chair.
As your Young Ambassador Officer it is my responsibility to assist you all in the search for candidates, to advise clubs on their responsibilities to their candidates, to organize our district finals and to work with the other YA district officers when we attend and hold the MD Finals.
Primarily, though, to be available to all clubs / members to provide information, assistance and respond to any questions.

Young Leaders in Service Officer
Lion Derek Rutter
I joined Lions in 1988, and currently I am immediate Past President. I look after the Youth projects for the club. I have been a Multiple District Officer, initially Peace Poster Officer, when this post was merged with Young Leaders in Service, I became interested in Young Leaders.
I
see my role as encouraging clubs to engage with Young Leaders in Service. This project gives clubs access to many potential members sine the parents of the Young Leaders will be invited to any presentation ceremony you hold. At the ceremony you can showcase both your club and Lions Clubs International in general.
I am happy to help clubs set the project up. It is not difficult to run, and is very rewarding.
