We are your Youth Team for 2022/23
Youth Team Leader & Young Ambassador Officer
Lion Sue Hibbert youthlead@lions105ce.org.uk & youngambassador@lions105ce.org.uk |
I joined in 1998 and I am a member of East Anglia New Century Club. I have been President three times, the District Leo District Officer for most of my time in Lions and was the MD Leo Officer. Recently our club has successfully entered candidates for Young Ambassadors and I have become more involved in this area.
As Youth Lead I am hoping to reenergise our youth projects. For the past 2 years I have worked hard within my club to promote and find a Young Ambassador. We were successful on both occasions. Both candidates are now Lions. I have a real passion for this project and hope to help other clubs replicate our success. I would love there to be more candidates at the next District Final held in November. Please contact me for help with finding and approaching candidates. |

ROAR Officer
Lion Sue Denton youthroar@lions105ce.org.uk |
I joined Grimsby (N E Lincs) Lions 20 years ago and transferred to Loughborough Lions in 2009 when I moved to my current address in Leicestershire. I joined District E Cabinet in 2006 and served as Environmental Officer, Minute Secretary and until I l left the District as Youth Team Leader.
Whilst serving as Youth Team Leader, amongst other things, I was responsible for introducing the ROAR Partnership into the District so I have a good knowledge of the programme and its aims. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we have now moved to an electronic system but the principles are the same. To engage with children aged 7 to 11 years to encourage them to change the world by thinking big on the many ideas they have. As an Officer of Cabinet I see it as my role to engage with Clubs in the District to show them the many benefits that this very worthwhile programme can bring not only to children but also to their own Clubs by giving them an entry into schools themselves. |
District ROAR Officer
Lion Steve Scall youthroar@lions105ce.org.uk |
I live with my daughter Laura in Boughton, having moved from Edwinstowe after 33 years. My son lives near Newark with partner Jenny and my fantastic grandson Finley.
I work for a local community newspaper, having retired from retirement! A Lion since 1996, involved with all aspects of club life, I came to understand the service ethos and helping the community. Having thoroughly enjoyed four years as President of Edwinstowe & The Dukeries, the club honoured me with an MJF. Having served as DG in 2018/19, I oversaw the joining of EA & E into CE, a very successful union where I continue to take an active part. I recently transferred to Southwell & District and am the fundraising chair. On Cabinet, I am on the ROAR team, running in primary schools in all 8 districts. And, the Young Farmers Liaison, a great opportunity to work together with an emphasis on hunger and environment. |
District LEOS & Campus Clubs Officer
Lion Lesley Clarke leosandcampus@lions105ce.org.uk |
I was instrumental in starting Newquay Towan Blystra Lions in 2008 with my late husband Ken. I was Treasurer, President and Secretary in this club and formed a Leo Club. Due to house move joined Truro Lions in 2016 where I served 2 years as President. I was District Governor 105SW in 2015/16 and became District Treasurer 105SW 2016 to 2022. I am also a current Certified Guiding Lion. Due to another house move to Thetford, Norfolk to be near my family I have joined Attleborough 2013 Lions Club.
As the new District Leo Officer I will help clubs create and manage Alpha and Omega Leo Clubs. I am happy to assist any club who wishes to start a new Leo club and help with already existing Leo Clubs. |
Young Leaders in Service Officer
Lion Derek Rutter youthylis@lions105ce.org.uk |
I joined Lions in 1988, and currently I look after the Youth projects for the club. I have been a Multiple District Officer, initially Peace Poster Officer, when this post was merged with Young Leaders in Service, I became interested in Young Leaders.
I see my role as encouraging clubs to engage with Young Leaders in Service. This project gives clubs access to many potential members sine the parents of the Young Leaders will be invited to any presentation ceremony you hold. At the ceremony you can showcase both your club and Lions Clubs International in general. I am happy to help clubs set the project up. It is not difficult to run, and is very rewarding. |
