District Disabilities Officer - Lion Derek Rutter
In general this post exists to try to encourage Inclusion, Diversity and Equality for all clubs within the District.
The officer can give advice to advise on the suitability of premises used for meetings so that our clubs can demonstrate that we try to be inclusive.
The disabilities officer would seek to encourage clubs to become engaged with local disability groups and even try to encourage their members to become members or “Friends of Lions”.
As Lions we are involved with activities that could be useful to organisations that organise “disability games” and we should consider offering our services to help with these activities.
The District Speech and Hearing Officer is considered to be incorporated into the District Disability Officer’s role.
