Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF)

Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is the official charitable organisation of Lions Clubs International, and as a leading humanitarian organisation, LCIF supports Lions’ compassionate works by providing grant funding for their local and global humanitarian efforts. LCIF helps Lions around the world foster their great spirit of giving and dedication to helping others by enable projects big and small. You can read more about our international LCIF Mission here and see what we do globally.

LCIF makes a positive impact

LCIF and Lions reach millions of people and accomplish visible results. Some of our accomplishments include:
  • Preventing serious vision loss for more than 30 million people
  • Providing over 153.3 million treatments for river blindness
  • Engaging more than 13 million students and 600,000 educators in 90 countries in the youth development program Lions Quest
  • Building or expanding 615 eye hospitals/clinics/wards
  • Conducting more than 19 million vision screenings for children through Sight for Kids
  • Providing vision screening for more than 350,000 Special Olympics athletes from 85 countries through Opening Eyes
Please support LCIF, directly or through your local Lions Club and help us to make a difference.

Fundraising and Our Current Appeals

LCIF raises funds from Lions Clubs and the public, some of our current appeals can be found here. We raise funds through Club activities, donations are made through 'current appeals' and through ongoing humanitarian awards programmes such as the Melvin Jones Fellowship and in the UK the Bert Mason Award. These awards are a great way for Clubs to recognise humanitarian contributions from their members and at the same time make donations to associated funds too.

LCIF helps Lions serve

LCIF helps Lions improve peoples’ lives around the world, from combating vision problems to responding to major catastrophes to providing valuable life skills to youth. Because LCIF helps Lions carry out large-scale projects through our grant programs, Lions can increase their impact in local and global communities and serve even more people in need around the world.

LCIF is funded from Lions Clubs and individuals

Donations from 1.4+ million Lions in 210 countries and geographic areas provide most of the revenue received by LCIF, making the Foundation a leading humanitarian organisation. Lions know their donations matter and work hard to raise the funds entrusted to LCIF which support initiatives that positively impact communities and change lives for the better.

LCIF forms lasting and successful partnerships

LCIF leverages the donations received through effective partnerships with other foundations, corporations and governments on the local, national and international level. We are proud that LCIF was named the #1 non-governmental organisation worldwide with which to partner, according to a 2007 Financial Times independent survey.

LCIF has key areas of service

To support Lions’ mission of serving communities and meeting humanitarian needs, LCIF provides grants in these focus areas:
  • Vision
  • Hunger
  • Childhood Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Environment
  • Youth
  • Providing Disaster Relief
  • Meeting Humanitarian Needs

As supported by the examples above, LCIF makes positive impact through our grants to Lions Clubs across the globe, saving sight, serving youth, providing disaster relief and meeting humanitarian needs.
