Melvin Jones Fellowship

Picture
The Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF) is a generous way to show commitment to the humanitarian work of Lions Clubs International Foundation.

The MJF Programme was established in 1973 in honour of Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Clubs International. The MJF programme is a great way to recognise the contribution of individuals to the work of Lions, why not look to see who in your club deserves the recognition of becoming a Melvin Jones Fellow.

For a donations of US$1,000 to Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), you can present a Melvin Jones Fellowship award to a worthy recipient.

The great news is that the Melvin Jones Fellowship contributes to the growth of the fellowship and allows LCIF to meet humanitarian needs in communities around the world. LCIF is able to continue and expand programmes through the generous support of Fellows.

New MJF’s receive a pin, commemorative plaque and a letter from the LCIF Chairperson. If the donor so chooses, they may use their donation credit to recognise another individual with an MJF.

Individuals, may receive further MJF awards and become a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship (PMJF), PMJFs provide opportunity to further advance in the Fellowship programme. For each subsequent donation of US$1,000 beyond the initial MJF donation, donors receive a unique PMJF pin in accordance with their level of giving. Like MJFs, donors can recognise another individual with PMJF donations.

Districts, clubs and individuals can donate to LCIF through the Melvin Jones Fellowship Programme, but only an individual can receive the recognition. MJF applications using collective donations from multiple donors must be accompanied by written consent from all donors to use their donations for MJF recognition for the individual specified on the application.

Melvin Jones Fellowship can also be named in honour or in memory of an individual.

As a Melvin Jones Fellow, your name will be added to our listing of all individuals in the programme, and if you ever visit the International Headquarters, please visit the LCIF Room to see your name on this extensive list.

The award of a Melvin Jones Fellowship represents dedication to humanitarian service to the highest degree.
