Twinning Overview

Twinning is very much at the hear of how Lions Clubs and Districts link arms to understand each other and very often jointly help those in need through joint service projects. In fact two of the Purposes of Lions Clubs International relate to twinning.

They are:
To Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world; and
To Unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.
 
Bearing these in mind and our desire to reach out to our neighbouring Districts, District 105CE has signed formal Twinning Agreements with 5 of our neighbouring Districts.

They are:
France District 103 Nord
The Netherlands District 110 CO
Germany District 111 NH
Romania District 124
Ireland District 133
 
To cement relationships, District 105 CE invites the District Governor and partner of 2 of these twins to attend our District Convention each year, on a rotational basis.

For our 2024 District Convention, District Governor Paul has invited the District Governors of both France Nord and Ireland.

A gathering of all the twinned districts was held where a meal was shared, banners exchanged and the twinning agreements were resigned, signalling the continued bonds of fellowship and international understanding.
