LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL COURSES

The following courses are all residential and presented by trained facilitators.
They are international in terms of the participants and usually take place annually in our constitutional area.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE (FDI) – for Lions who have some experience as instructors at local Lions training events, have demonstrated basic instructional skills, and have a keen interest in further developing those skills.
  • Enhancement of training delivery skills and techniques
  • Candidates will be required to conduct a local training event within six months of attending the institute, in order to complete the FDI.
  • There is no requirement to produce materials

ADVANCED LIONS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (ALLI) – for Lions who have completed a successful term as club president, but have not yet attained the position of First Vice District Governor.

  • focuses on building the skills of Lions leaders to prepare them for leadership responsibilities at zone, region and district levels.

Comments from  recent attendees:
  • ‘I didn’t realise how much I would get from meeting Lions from countries across Europe’.

  • ‘The camaraderie across different nationalities was brilliant’

  • ‘ It was an opportunity to look at myself and ways I could further develop as a Lion.’

LIONS CERTIFIED INSTRUCTION PROGRAMME (LCIP) – Lions who wish to become certified instructors for Lions International after completing an FDI course should apply to the LCIP.
  • The purpose of the LCIP is to deliver consistent effective training at all levels within Lions by increasing the number of qualified instructors, while also providing a framework for broadening and deepening the knowledge and experience of the instructors. The LCIP training provides Lions who have training experience the opportunity to expand their knowledge and demonstrate their training ability, including the opportunity to be evaluated for certification.
