About Lions Club

Lions logo
Mission Statement

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Vision Statement

To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.

Who we are and what we do

Wherever you live, work or travel across the British Isles, you are likely to come across members of Lions Clubs International and the many thousands of projects we support.

Lions are ordinary people who do extraordinary things to help others and support good causes throughout the British Isles and globally through our International Organisation. Worldwide, we have more volunteers in more places than any other service club organisation, and we love to help those in need. We make things happen, whether it be small local project helping a school, or a large international project eradicating preventable blindness.
Our District, designated 105CE, covers the whole Eastern side of England from the River Thames up to the River Humber.  As it is a large area, for administrative purposes, it is split into six regions and seventeen zones covering a total of 93 Lions Clubs and 2 Leo Clubs.

Every Lions Club supports a range of good causes and projects in their area where you can also get involved. Every day, Lions are organising remarkable and memorable fundraising activities and having fun along the way. In the year ending 30th June 2020 – despite the effects of over three months of lockdown, Lions Clubs in our District completed 68,270 hours of service, raised over US$374,000 to support the needs of both local and international communities serving more than 315,625 people.

We are always looking for new members, if you are interested in helping support our activities and becoming a Lion, please click here. Why not find a Club near to you by clicking on this link and visit them to see just what they do!

Because we are local, we serve the unique needs of the communities in which we live. As we are global, we can address community challenges wherever they occur.

Some Lions Clubs in our District sponsor Leo Clubs for youngsters who wish to contribute to their local communities.  To find out more on Leo Clubs just click on the link.
